Who should take this course? People who have current IATA certification from a shipper or forwarders perspective, and wish to learn the additional responsibilities of an airline operator who accepts Dangerous Goods. Suitable for ground-handling personnel and airline acceptance, loading and handling staff.
This training provides additional Category 6 training for people already certified under the following IATA Categories:
Cat 1 and 2 (Shipper)
Cat 3 thru 5 (Forwarder)
Category 6 is for airline employees and their ground handlers who need full DG cargo acceptance training.
Why Do I need Air Carrier Training?
Materials Required:When beginning the course follow onscreen prompts to download and print the student workbook. Current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations required for this session. If you need a current copy, we suggest purchasing one from DG Supply at 800-347-7879 or on their web site.
Are any additional courses required?
- Students must have passed a DGI IATA acceptance course in the previous 2 years.
- Certificate awarded for this course will be for function-specific training and must be used in conjunction with previous IATA Acceptance training that includes DOT Safety and Security Training.
Function Specific Training - Ultimately (in the United States) your employer has final responsibility for determining if a hazmat employee is properly trained for their particular job function. Since there is a potential for limitless types of job functions as determined by an individual employer, we as your training provider can only suggest what types of additional training might be required.
